It's an Indonesian movie with English subtitles!
Joseph Gunawan (Calvin Muliawan) returns to Melbourne with the heavy burden of his past mistakes that push him to take an easier and familiar road in drug dealing. His instinct for survival in the world changes when he meets Natasha (Vernanda Lupita), a girl searching for love in all the wrong places. Natasha reminds him of his past self-destruction as he falls for her and she falls deeper into addiction. An unlikely mutual ‘friend’, Jessica (Jocelyn Victoria), finds herself in the midst of Joseph and Natasha’s problems naturally believing she has all the answers. Her pride as a Christian goes to her head, unfolding her own ordeals with her church community.
On the other end of the spectrum, Jessica’s best friend William (Carlson Soemarsono) faces a different struggle in his faith. Confused between God’s calling and obeying his parents, who have planned their son’s future since he was young, William takes the leap of faith though his decision may or may not be fatal to his mother’s cancer. Stephanie (Nikita Suryaputri), his little sister who has always been the other child in the family, finally begins mend to her relationship with William when she sees the real pressures that come with being the favorite. Their mother’s condition also makes her see that life is too short to be enraged by disappointment and resentment.
As the characters evolve, they discover they are not who the world has shaped them to be but that their true identities are in Christ.
Because we are all Fallen, flawed, and imperfect but drenched in His grace.
